Service Location

Port Sultan Qaboos is the main port in the Sultanate of Oman where Oasis is the only company providing ex-pipe bunkering services. We have inter alia bunkered container ships, tankers, passenger liners, luxury yachts and navel ships, including submarines.

The geographical location of Port Sultan Qaboos makes it an ideal bunker point for vessels not only in the Gulf, but also for ships transiting from the Red Sea to the Gulf and the Indian subcontinent. We deliver our bunker products, fuel oil and gas oil to the multipurpose berths from our bulk storage facility via our own integrated hydrant system using underground pipelines to the bunker manifold outlets, at which point the hoses are connected to the bunker manifold. The system has recently been extended to better serve the recently upgraded passenger handling terminal.

Services available in the port include bunkering, storage, towage, ship chandlers and medical services. Oasis is operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, serving our clients.

Tanks

Oasis owns a modern facility to receive, store and supply bunker fuels at Port Sultan Qaboos. The modern fuel farm has a large capacity storage tank for heavy grade fuel and gas oil.

The product tanks are built to API 650 standard with fixed roofs and are situated within in a fireproof reinforced concrete bund wall system. The Port Services Corporation has granted Oasis 5,000 m2 of land (on an evergreen lease basis) and an additional 1000 m2 has been added for tank capacity expansion.

Oasis is equipped with a variety of flanges and adapters to compliment the complete range of ship manifold connections. The dimension for transfer hoses from the hydrant to the ship manifold is 6 inches.

Terminal

Oasis has built a modern fuel terminal at the port, comprising of a comprehensive fire protection system compliant to oil major standards, incorporating flame detectors, alarm system, two firewater pumps, lubes, tank cooling sprinkler and tank top foam pourers. The fire alarm is linked to the local brigade and to the core staff who are on site 24 hours a day.

The terminal receives and issues products via a two-pipeline system. Our two grades of heavy crude (IFO) fuel oils (380 Cst & 180 Cst) utilize a common line; whilst marine gasoil (MGO) is handled through a dedicated line to ensure product integrity.

In the interest of safety and sound environmental practices, Oasis utilized Glass Reinforced Epoxy (GRE) piping for the buried sections of pipeline, because GRE has no risk of pipeline wall corrosion, thus minimizing the risk factors pertaining to underground pipeline ruptures due to corrosion. To date, Oasis has a record of zero spills.
